An advocate for lean and agile delivery across several Red Badger projects.
Red Badger is well known for Delivery. We deploy full cross functional delivery teams who are capable of solving the most complex technical problems. We consistently use lean agile techniques and this is central to our success. As our Delivery Director you will take responsibility for maintaining alignment with Red Badger’s way of working and ensuring quality. You are accountable and will take ownership of looking after the customer, the project and (most) importantly the Red Badger team.
We love delivering projects and programmes and as we grow we need a new senior leader to join our organisation. You will have a proven track record over many years of delivering quality digital products and have probably previously had roles such as delivery manager, head of delivery or programme manager.
In this role you will need to lead and manage sales pitches to help scope the project and what its delivery needs are. This includes sizing teams, quoting time and materials, negotiating contracts, influencing clients and managing the account.
You will be the main point of contact for our clients outside of the day to day project discussions and will build credible, authentic and knowledgeable relationships with them. You will help drive their digital strategy as well as oversee the delivery of the Red Badger engagement. We believe in leading by example and showing our clients how they can improve their own delivery processes.
The Delivery Director is involved throughout the lifecycle of a project right through to a product being live in customers hands. You will manage project / account escalations, ensure overall project quality, manage delivery dates (with the Project Manager) and ensure the client and team are performing at their best. You will shape the engagement for Red Badger and ensure it is a project that the entire team can be passionate about delivering.
The profitability of the project /account will be managed by you and the Technical Director and you will need to have experience of managing team budgets or project budgets.
On a day to day basis you will take a step back from the running of the project and focus on managing the stakeholders, helping to define the structure and scope of the project and ensuring all commercial documentation is in place. You will pair with a Technical Director from Red Badger to ensure alignment and quality is maintained.
Working closely with the Project Manager you will need to oversee the project end to end - this includes alignment with Red Badger’s way of working.
You will have years of experience in project management and understand about data driven forecasts - this means ensuring quality is maintained, forecast and target dates are managed, and project reporting is based on data, not gut feel.
The Red Badger team
You will build strong relationships with the teams you oversee to ensure they feel supported and motivated, this is particular important when your team is located at a client site rather than at Badger HQ.
You will play an important part in the Red Badger organisation as a key leader and influencer. You will hire, manage and motivate members of the delivery team and need to have experience in leading teams. You will have strong experience in Kanban and / or Scrum as well as understand data driven forecasting.
About Red Badger
The best bit about Red Badger is, of course, the team. We’ve been around for 7 years now and we are nearly 90 strong. We are really proud of our team; we support and learn a lot from each other; we work really hard but have fun doing it. We are a diverse group made up of 22 different nationalities, speaking 17 different languages.
We were founded by 3 guys who have considerable tech and consultancy experience and still own 100% of the company. We’ve been consistently profitable and have grown responsibly from the beginning.
We are based at Old Street in the heart of “tech city” and get thoroughly stuck in with the brilliant community around us. We run several meetups including the hugely popular React London, and the Functional Programming on the Web, invite other groups to host their events in our office such as Lua London and Ladies Who Code and speak at events like Agile Roundabout and LNUG.
We make sure our team is well looked after with generous salaries and a great benefits package which includes -
- Annual £2K training budget
- Generous Pension
- Group Life Insurance
- Income Replacement Benefit
- Critical Illness Cover
- Private Medical Insurance
- Your choice of hardware and mobile phone
- Matched (pre tax) charity PAYE donations
