Java 8 and Spring Boot expert wanted!
This is a permanent role.
We’re looking for an experienced Java engineer to join our passionate, lean, agile, fast growing and tech-loving team on a permanent basis.
You will have a deep understanding of RESTful microservices using Java 8 and Spring Boot, including the full SDLC from code to production deployment and support.
You’ll be comfortable designing and articulating solutions, working closely with clients to ensure we’re delivering the right thing in the right way. Understanding that delivering quality, working software, which meets the user’s needs, is paramount.
You’ll be passionate about moving Red Badger forward and be a champion of best practices, patterns, process and tech. You will lead by example; getting your hands dirty in the code, inspiring your peers & educating our clients.
Whilst the focus is firmly on Java, you will also have the chance to work with lots of other great technology; some of our favourites at the moment are-
- Git, Github
- ES6, Ruby, Node.js, Go, Clojure,
- React.js, Elm, Flow
- Sass, CSS Modules, CSS-in-JS, PostCSS
- Mocha, Sinon, Chai, RSpec
- ElasticSearch, Redis, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL
- Docker, AWS Stack, Heroku, Terraform, Serverless
- Responsive (and Adaptive) Layouts
- RESTful APIs and GraphQL

We don't dictate how you work at Red Badger, each team is totally autonomous and entrusted to make the right decisions.
We work in close, multi-disciplined teams made up of some of the industry’s best UX designers, digital designers, developers, testers and agile project managers. We always work in an agile manner, mostly Kanban these days. We look to continuously improve our lean processes and are always looking for a better way to do things.
We work on large, technically complex, projects for great brands such as Fortnum & Mason, Sky and Tesco to name but a few. Take a closer look at some of our work here.
